9:30am - 10:45am - Session One: What are your Weeds Telling You? Creating a Successful Weed Management Program for Turf
Presented by Sam Marshall, Commercial and Consumer Horticulture Agent, North Carolina State Extension - Brunswick County
We will cover weed identification of spring/summer/winter weeds (annual and perennial), environmental factors that influence specific weed occurrence, as well as integrated control options for successful weed suppression. The session will cover integrated solutions for weed management, weed identification, and environmental factors that influence weeds.
11:00am - 12:15pm - Session Two: The Basics of Tree Care and Maintenance for Every Parks Professional
Presented by Aaron Reese, City Arborist, Wilmington Parks & Recreation
This session will discuss care and maintenance of young trees, including proper planting, mulching, and pruning. It will also look at ways to recognize stress and defects in mature trees, and when to seek help from an ISA Certified Arborist. In addition, the session will cover the best practices for trees that are commonly found in the southeastern region of North Carolina.

Presented by Devin Skipper, Owner, Salt Air Heating and Cooling
The goal of this presentation is to address preventative maintenance strategies, plans and techniques for HVAC systems as well as the best practices for maintaining existing systems or installing new systems. Devin will also discuss the unique aspects of Leland's recently installed HVAC system.
